Bijapur 28 February 2021. Under the leadership of Chhattisgarh Chief Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the State Government is taking all possible initiatives to encourage sportspersons, including expansion of sports facilities. As a result of this positive effort, talented players from the region like Bastar are now making their mark at the state and national level. Former MLA Late Rajendra Pambhoi Smriti organized the inter-state cricket competition in the remote border town of Bhopalpatnam city of Bastar region, proving that there is a lot of interest and enthusiasm in the region towards sports. Which includes teams from neighboring states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra and Orissa along with Chhattisgarh. In any sporting event, there is defeat and victory, But the player’s outstanding recognition of his superior performance with sportsmanship is why aiming his talent to perform well and best proves the excellence of the player and the team. This was stated by Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Kavasi Lakhma while addressing the concluding function of the inter-state cricket tournament held under the aegis of Krishna Pambhoi Cricket Club in Bhopalpatnam.
On this occasion, Regional MLA and Vice-Chairman Bastar Development Authority, Mr. Vikram Mandavi said that Bhopalpatnam of Bijapur district is very ahead in the field of sports. In view of the enthusiasm of the people of this area and love for the game, now the indoor stadium will be constructed here and a good outdoor cricket stadium will be constructed in future. He congratulated all the teams for participating in the late Rajendra Pambhoy Smriti Inter-State Cricket tournament held from 19 February and assured them to do the event better in the coming year. On this occasion, in the final match, the victorious Visakhapatnam team received the late Rajendra Pambhoi Smriti Trophy, the runner-up Umarkot team including the man of the match, Man of the Series and other awards were presented to the players. During this, it was informed that a total of 8 teams took part in the late Rajendra Pambhoy Smriti Inter-State Cricket Competition organized by Krishna Pambhoi Cricket Club Bhopalpatnam from 19 February and showed their talent better.
