Dantewada , 26 April 2023, On Wednesday, 10 policemen were martyred in a Naxalite attack in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh. These jawans belonged to the District Reserve Guard (DRG) unit. Apart from these, the driver of his vehicle also died in the attack. Maoists blew up policemen’s vehicle in IED blast. According to the news agency, 50 kg of explosives were blasted.
The attack took place between Aranpur-Sameli under Aranpur police station area of Dantewada district. The soldiers had gone out on Tuesday night on the information of Jagdish, a hardcore Naxalite commander and a reward of 8 lakhs. There was an encounter between the police and the Naxalites here at around 7 am on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the vehicle of the returning jawans was blown up. IG Sundarraj P said – Senior officers have been sent on the spot. Search operation is going on in the area.
Those who were martyred in the Naxalite attack included head constables Joga Sodhi, Munna Ram Kadati, Santosh Tamo, new constables Dulgo Mandavi, Lakhmu Markam, new constables Joga Kawasi, new constables Hariram Mandavi, secret soldiers Raju Ram Kartam, Jairam Podiyam Jagdish Kawasi and car. Driver Dhaniram Yadav is included.
Naxalites campaign is going on for attack
TCOC (Tactical Counter Offensive Campaign) of Naxalites is going on in Bastar. Naxalites often carry out many major incidents during this period. Force is also on alert mode in view of TCOC. Jawans are being sent for searching in all the districts of Bastar.
Naxalite camp was demolished 5 days ago
Five days ago, the security forces had destroyed the camp of Naxalites in Sukma district. A large quantity of explosives including items of daily use of Naxalites were recovered. It is being told that about 25 to 30 Naxalites were present in this camp. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has expressed grief over the attack. Said- My condolences to the families of the martyrs. Naxalites will not be spared. He will cancel his visit to Karnataka on Thursday and go to Dantewada to pay homage to the martyrs. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said to provide all possible help to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
two trains canceled
Kirandul-Visakhapatnam passenger and night express trains have been canceled in Bastar. Both these passenger trains will not go beyond Dantewada to Kirandul today. However, movement of goods trains from Kirandul carrying iron ore to Visakhapatnam will continue. ECO (East Coast) Railway Division has issued an order regarding passenger trains.
MLA’s convoy was attacked a week ago
The convoy of Congress MLA from Bijapur, Vikram Mandavi, was attacked by Maoists a week ago. Bullets were found on the vehicle in which District Panchayat member Parvati Kashyap was sitting. Everyone is safe. MLA Vikram Mandavi, District Panchayat member along with Congress leaders had gone to Gangalur. Nukkad Sabha was organized here on Tuesday in the weekly Haat Bazaar. While returning from there, Naxalites fired at moving vehicles near Padeda village.
BGL was fired on soldiers 2 years ago, 22 soldiers were martyred
On 3 April 2021, 22 soldiers were martyred and more than 35 were injured in an encounter in Tekalguda of Tarrem police station area of Bijapur district. He was attacked by 350 to 400 Naxalites. Leaders of major cadres of Maoists were also present in these. A large amount of BGL (Barrel Grenade Launcher) was fired on the jawans. Along with this, weapons were also looted from the soldiers of DRG, CRPF, Cobra battalion. Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, a Cobra soldier was abducted. Weapons were also looted from the jawan. In this encounter, the Naxalites carried out the incident during their TCOC. Later Jawan Rakeshwar Singh was released by the Maoists.
