According to the decisions, the MSP of paddy has been increased from Rs 2183 per quintal to Rs 2300 per quintal. The MSP of maize has been increased from Rs 2090 per quintal to Rs 2225 per quintal.

Approval given to Vadhavan Port of Maharashtra

The second decision of the Modi cabinet is related to the infrastructure sector. The cabinet has approved the Vadhavan port of Maharashtra. The construction of this port will cost around Rs 76 thousand crores. This port will be built near Dahanu and this port will be built by a joint venture of JNPA and Maharashtra Maritime Board. Maharashtra Maritime Board will have a 26 percent stake in the JV and JNPA’s share will be 74 percent.

Offshore wind energy project approved

The third decision of the Modi cabinet is related to renewable energy. The cabinet has approved the first offshore wind energy project in India. Its total capacity will be one gigawatt which will be two projects of 500-500 megawatts. These projects will be set up in the sea at some distance from the coast so that electricity can be produced throughout the year. One project will be set up in Gujarat and the other in Tamil Nadu.
