The advertisement claimed that the Statue of Unity was being sold to raise funds against Corona. Its bid price was also given in the sale advertisement. People were shocked after seeing the advertisement. On Monday, a case has been filed against unknown person in this case and taken into consideration.
A case has been registered against an unidentified person after an online advertisement was issued for the sale of ‘Statue of Unity’ located in Kevadia in Narmada district. The accused had claimed that to meet the government spending on medical infrastructure and hospitals to deal with the corona virus crisis, online advertising is going on for sale of this statue for Rs 30,000 crore.
An official of Gujarat’s Kevadia police station told the news today that an unknown person had given an advertisement on OLX on Saturday. In this, he had expressed the need to sell the Statue of Unity for Rs 30,000 crore to buy hospitals and health equipment in the state.
Inspector PT Chaudhary said that the officials of the memorial came to know about the complaint and report of the people. Describing it as wrong, he demanded action from the police. He said that a case has been registered in this regard under various laws.
After the advertisement was released, OLX removed this advertisement from the website after the ruckus and FIR. Significantly, the Statue of Unity is the memorial of Sardar Patel and its statue is 182 meters high. It was inaugurated in 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
