Actually, the Excise Department was getting information about the manufacture, sale and transportation of illegal liquor for a long time. Since the liquor smugglers are very clever, the Deputy Commissioner talked to the smugglers for four-five days using a fake number as a customer. After this, the action was carried out secretly. He caught Motilal Sahu’s four-wheeler Maruti Wagon R while smuggling liquor, in which 40 boxes of fake Goa liquor without hologram were recovered.
In this way, 300 liters of OP (Over Proof) or spirit used in the manufacture of country liquor and 12 boxes of fake Goa liquor without hologram were confiscated from the four-wheeler Ashok Leyland pickup of another accused Yuvraj Sahu. Along with this, 8 boxes of fake Goa liquor were also found lying unclaimed.

A large quantity of empty bottles, caps, and materials used for making illicit liquor were found in the pickup vehicle. A case was registered against both the accused under the sections of the Chhattisgarh Excise Act and action was taken to send them to jail.
The Deputy Commissioner carried out the entire operation with his team by setting up a blockade in pouring rain. This is the first major operation of its kind in the state, in which such a large quantity of liquor and illegal liquor manufacturing material was recovered. Along with this, the vehicle used in illegal transportation was also seized. The Deputy Commissioner said that the action will continue in future as well.
