Durg. Durg police is cracking down on the panel operators of Mahadev app and other online gaming apps in Bhilai. This time the police have arrested Harsh Kumar, a resident of Khurshipar, who was operating panel number 128 of Reddy Anna app. The accused youth Harsh runs a grocery and mobile shop in Durga Mandir ward of Khurshipar, but under the guise of this he also used to conduct online betting.
Today the accused was sitting inside his Swift Dzire car in the parking lot of Vivekanand Garden, Sector 01, Bhilai and was betting online through mobile phone. When the police received information from an informer, the ACCU team surrounded and caught the person sitting inside the Swift Dzire car near Vivekanand Garden. During interrogation, panel operator Harsh told that he conducts betting through the online gaming app Reddy Anna 128 number panel.
From Harsh’s mobile, the police got information about the transactions of Rs 6 lakh 37 thousand 330 invested in online gaming and the accounts in the WhatsApp group. Two mobile phones used in online gaming, ATM cards of five different banks, five SIM cards, cash amount of Rs 1043 and the Swift Dzire car used in the incident were recovered from the accused. A total of Rs 8,73,000 worth of property and money has been seized.
Further action is being taken against the accused by registering a crime under the Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act 2022 at Bhilai Bhatti police station.
