A serious situation has emerged before the India-Australia T20 match which is going to be held in Raipur. Hard copies of tickets for the cricket match are being given to the spectators in the indoor stadium of the city. Those who book tickets online have to stand in queues for hours and wait for their turn. People are troubled in the harsh sunlight. There is not even drinking water. There are arguments and pushing and shoving with those who break the line and enter the middle.
Apart from different cities of Chhattisgarh, people from all over the country have come to the indoor stadium to collect hard copies of tickets. Because without this you will not be able to enter Shaheed Veer Narayan Cricket Stadium. The cricket match is to be held on 1 December. Standing in the queue here after depositing money online is proving to be difficult for the people. Students came from 5 am in the morning.
Student category tickets are being sold again from Thursday, 30 November. Earlier, student category tickets were sold on November 28. The student category ticket has the lowest price of Rs 1000, due to which a large crowd reached the indoor stadium to buy tickets. The counter was opened at 11:00 am on Thursday but the crowd of students had started gathering by 5:00 am itself. But the students did not get the tickets within the stipulated time due to which a dispute occurred.
I have never seen such chaos anywhere.
After purchasing the online ticket, Vijay Joglekar from Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh reached Raipur to get the hard copy. Vijay told Dainik Bhaskar that in my life I have seen 70 international cricket matches held in India. Big events are also held in cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru. They should learn something from there. I have never seen such chaos anywhere till date. There is neither shed nor drinking water, people will fall unconscious here. More counters had to be opened so that the crowd could be managed. If there is an international match in Raipur in the future, then the organizers should at least learn from other cities. If only queues were to be set up then why go online.
A youth from Raipur created a ruckus near the ticket counter. People were trying to enter from outside the line and take hard copies. Because of this there was an uproar. The youth told Dainik Bhaskar that first the money was taken online and then they were called to the indoor stadium and made to stand in the queue for hours. Counters have been opened less due to which there is a problem, if only queues were to be maintained then why were tickets sold online and hard copies could have been given directly outside the cricket stadium to the people coming to watch the match. People are being harassed.
Gave my ticket to someone else
What happened to Manish Patel of Chhattisgarh is even more serious. He booked three tickets worth Rs 2000 online. When they reached the indoor stadium with ID proof and payment proof, they were told that someone else had taken their ticket. No satisfactory answer was given to Manish. No arrangement has been made by Chhattisgarh Cricket Association to solve Manish’s problem. Now Manish is waiting to get the ticket.Four arrested for black marketing
On Wednesday, the Anti Crime Unit of Raipur Police, along with the Kotwali Police Station, arrested some youths from the areas around the Indoor Stadium for black marketing of tickets. The two arrested youths are Anil Jangde and Akash Kumar Dhiwar, residents of Tulsi Baradera Mandir Hasaud.
