Balodabazar violence… Devendra Yadav’s remand will end today: He will be produced through video conferencing, police may present challan on September 10

The 7-day remand of Congress MLA Devendra Yadav from Bhilai, Chhattisgarh is ending on Monday. After his appearance on Tuesday, September 3, the court had extended his remand till September 9. In view of the law and order situation, the hearing will be held today also through video conferencing. Earlier, the hearing was held on August 20 and 27.

Devendra Yadav’s lawyer will present his case regarding the police’s challan. It is likely that the police may present the challan by September 10. He was arrested by Bhilai police on August 17 in the Balodabazar violence case.

Devendra accused of inciting the mob

MLA Devendra Yadav has been arrested in the Balodabazar violence case. He is accused of inciting people. Balodabazar police issued notice four times in this case, but the MLA refused to go and give a statement.

He had said that if the police wanted to take a statement, they should take him to them. On receiving the third notice for questioning in the Collectorate arson case, Devendra Yadav had also gone to Balod Bazar and met the Superintendent of Police.

On the other hand, according to a senior officer of Balodabazar police, the police have witnesses against Devendra. There are statements of some people. Apart from this, the police also have some videos. Action is being taken against him on the basis of this.

Investigation of 3 cases going on simultaneously

The Balodabazar violence case is not the first case under investigation against Devendra Yadav, he is also being investigated for the coal scam and the alleged MMS case. A few days ago, the Bhilai Nagar police had also issued him a notice and called him to the police station for photo video.

Devendra did not go there to record his statement again. He said that he had already given his statement once by going to the police station. He had also given it in writing that whatever further inquiry or information is needed in the investigation, they should come to his office and get it.

What is Balodabazar violence

  • On May 15, the religious symbol Jaitkham installed in Baghin Cave located in Manakoni Basti, about 5 km from Girodpuri Dham, the religious place of Satnami community, was damaged late at night. After this, there was a demand for action and continuous protests took place at the local level.
  • On May 19 , the police arrested 3 accused from Bihar in this case. During interrogation, it was found that the contractor was not paying money for the tap water scheme work. Therefore, the accused vandalized the place under the influence of alcohol, but the people of the society were not satisfied with this action.
  • Meanwhile, on June 10, during a demonstration in Balodabazar, people suddenly became violent and the chaos kept increasing. During the violence, the Collector-SP office was set on fire. Many vehicles were burnt. After this, about 200 people, including many public representatives, were arrested.
  • A video surfaced in which Devendra Yadav was also seen participating in the protest. In this case, he was issued a notice and called for questioning. Once he also reached Balodabazar for questioning. After this, he was arrested on 17 August .
