Superintendent of Police Vijay Agarwal organized a press conference presenting the annual report on the criminal incidents and effective actions of the police in the last one year in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district. On this occasion, he also shared information about the further steps to be taken by the police to prevent crimes.
Murder by stabbing and fake currency racket exposed
SP Vijay Aggarwal said that gang crime was exposed in the murder case related to stabbing in Lavan area. During the investigation of this case, the police kept a close watch on the circulation of fake notes and caught a big fake note racket, which exposed the network of fake notes. The police have arrested several accused involved in the circulation of fake notes and action is continuing in this case.
Action is going on in the Balodabazar arson case
On the much talked about violence and arson incident of Balodabazar, the Superintendent of Police said that 13 FIRs have been registered in this case and 187 people have been arrested. 9 to 10 more people may be arrested, the case is under investigation and the suspects are being identified. The police has presented the challan of this incident in the court.
Revelation of Kinnar blind murder and contract killing
The Superintendent of Police described the Kinnar blind murder case as challenging and said that this murder was carried out very cleanly by giving a contract. The police took prompt action in this case and exposed the murder conspiracy and the accused.
campaign against drug addiction
While referring to the success of the campaign against drug abuse, the SP said that the police have taken the highest number of challan actions against drunk driving across the state. During this campaign 25605 cases were registered for violation of traffic rules, which has improved road safety and reduced the effect of drug abuse. He also informed that revenue of one crore seventy lakh Sanatan thousand four hundred rupees was generated. He called drug abuse the main reason for crime and hinted at taking even more strict actions against it. He informed that 1100 kg ganja and 17036 liters of alcohol were seized.
Police action in the coming year and special focus on cyber crime
Vijay Aggarwal said that in the coming time, strict steps will be taken to control crime in the district. He especially talked about training police personnel to control cyber crime, because now thieves have become hi-tech and they commit crime from home. For this, the police said the first hour is important, he appealed to the public that in case of crime, immediately call on 1930 and close the account, so that crime can be controlled. Also, he talked about running a special campaign against drug abuse.
Decrease in crimes against women
The Superintendent of Police said that crimes against women have decreased this year as compared to previous years. Referring to the rape figures, he said that 152 cases were registered in 2022, 151 in 2023 and 135 cases have been reported. Describing the achievement of the police, he congratulated the people of the district for the upcoming New Year and appealed to stay away from intoxication and drive safely.
Achievements of Balodabazar-Bhatapara Police in the year 2024
- There has been a partial decrease in the crimes registered in the district Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara in the year 2024 as compared to the year 2022 and a partial increase as compared to the year 2023.
- There has been a decrease in crimes against women in the year 2024 as compared to the year 2023.
- There has been a 24.65% reduction in property crimes in 2024 as compared to the year 2023 and a 15% increase in property recovery.
- In the case of narcotics, there has been an increase of 92.30% in the year 2024 as compared to the year 2023 and 1063.646 kg more narcotics have been seized.
- By strengthening the information system in drug cases, for the first time, success has been achieved in taking effective action against brown sugar.
- In comparison to the seizure of 11873 liters of liquor in 1801 cases in the year 2023 against illegal liquor, in 2005 cases in the year 2024, action has been taken for seizure of more than 17 thousand liters of liquor, which has been found to be a significant increase in action and seizure compared to last year.
- Under the Motor Vehicles Act, 68% more actions have been taken in the year 2024 as compared to the year 2023 and additional summons fee of Rs 111.59 lakh has been collected.
- As compared to action taken against 97 habitual offenders under Section 110 in the year 2023, action has been taken against 164 habitual offenders in the year 2024.
- In the year 2023, 871 missing persons were recovered, whereas in the year 2024, 1061 missing persons have been recovered. There has been an increase of 21% in the recovery of the year 2024 as compared to last year.
- In order to reduce the criminal activities of the miscreants residing in the district and the fear prevailing among the people towards the miscreants, in the year 2024, the goonda file of 100 miscreants and 76 miscreants have been brought under surveillance.
- In 184 cases of hit and run, a case has been prepared for compensation to the victim party and a report has been sent to the competent authority, out of which till now relief amount of Rs 13 lakh 75 thousand has been provided to the victim party in 14 cases.
- Similarly, in the year 2024, out of 2278 cases registered under women, child crime and SC / ST Act, in 131 cases, a report has been sent to the competent authority for relief amount to the victim party, out of which Rs 35.77 lakh has been provided to the victim party in 29 cases.
