Raipur. BJP MLA Anuj Sharma raised the issue of corruption in the funds used during the Corona period in the House today. He alleged that the funds sent to the districts during the Corona period are continuing even after the end of Corona. This is proof of corruption on a very large scale. Purchases worth crores are being made on the basis of quotations only.
vMLA Anuj Sharma raised the question and said, during the time of Covid pandemic in the state, the state government, through the Directorate of Public Health and Family Welfare Department, allocated budget as per the requirement in each district of the state in items like Medicine-25007, Raw Weight Commercial Item 10-009, Machine Equipment-28003, Maintenance-24002 etc. Some special items from the said budget were given for use as per demand/requirement in the Covid pandemic. For this, budget was to be allocated under some specific prescribed items and material was to be purchased as per the requirement, but some officers/employees posted in the budget allocation branch of the Directorate, ignoring the rules, used to allocate budget to their favorite firms in the districts at their own will with the aim of benefiting them, which is present till date.
MLA Sharma said, even at present, budget is being allocated through these items to benefit a particular firm. It has also come to light that close relatives of the employees/officers of the Directorate and close relatives of pharmacists posted in the district have stakes in the said special firms that are getting the benefit of the budget. Almost all the MLAs had raised questions in this matter from time to time, but due to lack of strict action on this matter, there is anger among the general public and public representatives.
