Raipur, April 15, 2020 / Due to the nationwide lockdown caused by the corona infection, relief camps have been set up in the state of Chhattisgarh on the special initiative and direction of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to help migrant workers and needy people from other states. Workers from various provinces of the country are staying in these relief camps. Along with the workers, their children are also staying in these camps. Mr. Baghel has called the migrant laborers from other states to Chhattisgarh as guests of Chhattisgarh and has given instructions to the administration to arrange their stay, food and medicine. The facilities of migrant workers as well as their children are being taken care of in relief camps. Along with sports and other creative activities in these relief camps for children in their spare time, innovative initiative of their education was seen in the relief camp located in Bishunpur Community Building of Surguja, border district of Chhattisgarh state.
Here, the district administration, Surguja has arranged for the study and teaching of 14 children by putting up a mini school. It is also particularly noteworthy here that the work of teaching these children and teaching drawing-painting is being done by the young Mr. Satendra Rishi living in the camp in collaboration with the district administration.
It is noteworthy that a total of 108 workers and other people of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Orissa are staying in the relief camps set up in Bishunpur, Pratiksha Bus Stand and Sargwan Hostel of Ambikapur city. Children are also staying in the camps with them. Apart from providing free breakfast, food and medical facilities to the workers living in the camps, along with proper utilization of their children’s time and a mini-school for their education, a commendable system of teaching and learning has been made. The educated youth living in the camp have also become equal participants in the operation of the mini-school. The district administration has made arrangements for black board, chalk, pencil, book and sports material, bat, hair, slip band etc. for the education of children. To entertain the people staying in the camps, T.V. And a carrom board has been arranged.
