Raipur. CBI will investigate the irregularities in CG PSC 2021. The Central Government has issued a formal notification in this matter on Thursday. This issue was very heated in the state during the assembly elections. There was immense anger among the youth of the state regarding the irregularities in the PSC Exam 2021 and the youth had come out on the streets regarding this. Seeing the anger of the youth during the assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had guaranteed an investigation into this matter and action against the guilty. This guarantee given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the youth of the state has also been fulfilled with the handing over of CBI.
In view of the irregularities in the PSC examination and the complaints of the youth, the newly formed government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai had also decided to get the matter investigated by the CBI in the cabinet meeting on January 3, 2024. After getting the consent of the state government, the central government has issued a notification for investigation and has now handed over the case to CBI. It is noteworthy here that in Chhattisgarh PSC Exam 2021, the selection list was released for recruitment to 170 posts for 12 departments of the state. As soon as the selection list was released, there was anger among the participating youth. The youth made many complaints regarding nepotism and irregularities in the selection process and an FIR was also registered in this matter. Anticorruption Bureau/Economic Offenses Bureau had also registered an offense in this case.
It is noteworthy that the previous Congress government of the state had abstained from getting the most serious crimes committed in the state investigated by the CBI. In many cases that occurred during the tenure of the previous Congress government, the demand for CBI investigation was not only rejected outright, but CBI was also banned from coming to the state. With the BJP government at the Center and the State, the way has been opened for the CBI to investigate crimes of serious nature. Vishnu Dev government has also decided to get the Biranpur murder case investigated by CBI. Soon this case will also be the responsibility of CBI.
According to the notification issued by the Central Government, the powers of the members of the Delhi Special Police Establishment in the entire state of Chhattisgarh to search and investigate the cases related to crime number 28/2024 in exercise of the powers conferred under the sections of the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act. And the jurisdiction has expanded. It is also noteworthy here that Chhattisgarh Government Home Department had issued notification dated 16 February 2024 and revised notification dated 10 April 2024 regarding getting the irregularities of State Service Examination 2021 investigated by CBI.
Complaints of irregularities in the recruitment process of State Services Examination, 2021, under sections 420, 120-B of the IPC and sections 7/7-A and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, were registered at Police Station-Arjunda, District-Balod Was. (As amended 2018) and crime number 05/2024 has been registered at ACB/EOW police station of District-Raipur under sections 120B, 420 of IPC and sections 7/7-A and 12 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. (as amended in 2018) and any attempt, abetment and/or conspiracy to commit any other offense in connection with such offence(s) and/or committed during the same transaction or arising out of similar facts.
