Ambikapur: International Literacy Day: People from different sections of Surguja move towards digital literacy

Ambikapur 07 September 2020. The e-literacy center is being operated under the “Garhbo Digital Chhattisgarh” Chief Minister Urban Functional Literacy Program under the guidance of Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Sarguja Shri Kuldeep Sharma and under the guidance of Collector Shri Sanjeev Kumar Jha. Under Garhbo Digital Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Urban Functional Literacy Program 02E Literacy Center Livelihood College and JSS Gandhinagar Ambikapur are being operated in Sarguja district. In these e-literacy centers, the adult learners, youth, farmers, housewives and middle class people of the district have made a move towards digital literacy by becoming literate. Literacy Surguja is moving towards its goal and working towards a well-educated, educated and prosperous Surguja. In the modern era when the digital revolution is a challenge for the world. Garhbo Digital, an innovative initiative of the state of Chhattisgarh, is providing digital literacy from the municipal corporation area through two digital literacy centers in Sarguja district under Chhattisgarh.

District Project Officer Mr. Girish Gupta informed that in the Saakshar Bharat program run earlier under the State Literacy Mission, the district Sarguja was targeted to make 2,68,523 learners literate. The 198928 examinations have been successful in the examination conducted in 16 phases of the nationwide examination campaign. Presently the literacy rate of district Surguja is 60.86 percent as per census 2011, in which male literacy rate is 69.65 percent and female literacy rate is 51.91 percent. Women are being motivated to become self-reliant in digital form under the Chief Minister Urban Functional Literacy Program operated under “Garhbo Digital Chhattisgarh”. It is a special program in which knowledge of basic computer literacy, financial literacy, legal literacy, electoral literacy, good parenthood, life value, self-defense, etc. is being made. Under this program, 600 learners were targeted to be digitally literate in district Surguja, in which 564 learners have been successful by giving external assessment online. Currently, under this program, 18 students are left in e-literacy center Gandhinagar. E-Literacy Center JSS Gandhinagar Ambikapur operated 02 batches of 18, 18 learners in the month of March but due to Corona epidemic, classes have been suspended from March 14, 2020 as per the instructions of the State Literacy Mission Authority, which will be provided digital literacy in the next class.
