Collector Sanjeev Kumar Jha inspected Government Polytechnic College Ambikapur today to prepare Covid isolation center keeping in view the increasing number of Covid patients in the district. He inspected the first and second floors including the ground floor of the college and took stock of the basic requirements of electricity, fan, water, bathroom, etc., and instructed to set up a 500-bed isolation center in a week. The Collector directed DPM Dr. Pushpendra Ram of the Health Department to ensure that within a week the establishment of a 500-bed isolation center in the Polytechnic College, along with the necessary resources, ensure the arrangement of the medical team. There should be separate rooms, food and bathrooms for the medical team. He entrusted the responsibility to the Municipal Corporation for cleanliness and food arrangements and directed to initiate action soon. He said that first start recruiting patients in the rooms of the second floor and then get admitted in the first floor as needed. Make medical staff and other necessary arrangements in the ground floor.
During the inspection, he obtained information about the course to be conducted in the college from the Principal of the college, Mrs. Chandrika Vishwakarma and also inquired about online studies by the college. He instructed to make alternative arrangements at Livelihood College or any other place if more rooms are needed for college activities.
During the inspection, the CEO of Zila Panchayat Mr. Kuldeep Sharma, Corporation Commissioner Mr. Haresh Mandavi, SDM Mr. Ajay Tripathi, Polytechnic College Principal Mrs. Chandrika Vishwakarma and other officers and employees were present.
