Amazing fraud: Took NOC from somewhere else, installed mobile tower somewhere else… the matter came to light after people protested, know where the case is from

Mahasamund. A case of fraud by mobile companies for installing towers has come from Mahasamund Municipality area. Actually, M/s Indus Tower Limited got the contract to install Airtel’s mobile tower on the land (Khasra No. 668/11) of Anita Vishwakarma, resident of Imlibhata. The contract company signed an agreement with Anita Vishwakarma and sought permission from the Collector’s office to install the tower. The Collector’s office sent a letter to the Municipality Mahasamund for NOC in this regard.When municipal employee Guman Singh Dhruv reached the site for inspection, the contracting company showed him the wrong site and presented the documents of Anita Vishwakarma. The municipality issued NOC on this basis and the Collector’s office granted permission to install the tower on 3 October vWhen the contract company started the work of installing the tower, the residents of the locality protested against it. Despite the protest, the contractor started the work overnight, which was complained to the local councilor and the collector’s office. When no action was taken, today the residents of the locality staged a dharna at the place where the tower was to be installed.2024.

As soon as the information was received, the collector ordered the CMO of the municipality to investigate. When the Municipality’s Executive Engineer S.D. Sharma inspected the site, it was found that the contracting company had obtained the NOC by showing the wrong site.

The residents of the locality say that the tower should not be installed here because the radiation emitted from it will have a bad effect on the health of children and the elderly. On the other hand, the Executive Engineer of Mahasamund Municipality says that prima facie the contractor has taken permission by specifying the wrong site, so the work has been stopped with immediate effect and legal action will be taken against the contracting company for conducting the wrong site inspection
