As per the guarantee of PM Modi, with the decision of purchasing paddy at Rs 3100 per quintal and purchasing paddy at 21 quintal per acre, farmers sold their paddy in the paddy procurement centers and broke all the records till now of purchasing bumper paddy. On Tuesday, 111.75 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was purchased. Last year, 107.53 lakh metric tonnes were purchased. There is a bumper procurement situation when a full fortnight is left for paddy procurement.

As per the guarantee of PM Modi, with the decision of purchasing paddy at Rs 3100 per quintal and purchasing paddy at 21 quintal per acre, farmers sold their paddy in the paddy procurement centers and broke all the records till now of purchasing bumper paddy. On Tuesday, 111.75 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was purchased. Last year, 107.53 lakh metric tonnes were purchased. There is a situation of bumper procurement when only a fortnight is left for paddy procurement. It is noteworthy that the state government has set a target of procurement of 130 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in the Kharif marketing year 2023-24. Against which the state government has so far purchased 111.75 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers at support price. In lieu of paddy, an amount of more than Rs 23448 crore has been paid to the farmers through the bank.
As per the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the farmers who had sold paddy earlier will also get the benefit of selling 21 quintals of paddy per acre. This means that the farmers who have sold the predetermined quantity of paddy from November 1 till now will be able to sell the remaining quantity of paddy in the procurement center till January 31.
According to the information received from the General Manager of Markfed, till now 111 lakh 75 thousand 247 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 21 lakh 266 farmers in the state at support price. In lieu of this, an amount of more than Rs 23 thousand 448 crore has been paid to the farmers through the bank. Along with paddy procurement, continuous lifting of paddy is going on for custom milling. So far, DO has been issued for the lifting of 92 lakh 5 thousand 247 metric tonnes of paddy. Against this, 71 lakh 87 thousand 338 metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted by the millers.
In the last Kharif year 2022-23, 107.53 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was purchased from 23 lakh 42 thousand 50 farmers at support price. About Rs 22 thousand 067 crore was paid to the farmers in lieu of paddy purchase.
