Raipur. There was a ruckus after the death of a woman admitted in MMI Narayana Multispecialist Hospital located in Lalpur, Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. The family has accused the hospital management and doctors of negligence regarding the woman’s death. The deceased’s son Om Khemani alleged that his mother did not die, but was deliberately killed. Meanwhile, a statement of the Faculty Director of MMI Hospital has also come out in this matter.
Om Khemani told that his mother Bharti Devi was admitted to MMI Hospital on September 2 for treatment, from where the hospital referred her to Hyderabad. During this time, the hospital itself contacted the Red Air Ambulance office present in the hospital and suggested to take her by air. After this, after flying from Raipur Airport to Hyderabad, oxygen supply was not being done due to a fault in the machine, due to which the patient’s condition started deteriorating. During this time, he repeatedly requested to wear an oxygen mask, but the people present there said that there is a problem of oxygen due to high altitude and it will be resolved soon. After this, the pilot talked to other employees and within 15-17 minutes the air ambulance that landed in Hyderabad was taken back to Raipur. After this, when he was taking him back to the hospital, he died on the way.
There was no doctor in the ambulance
Om Khemani said that there was a technical fault in the air ambulance machine, despite this the air ambulance took off, although he had raised objections to it many times. At the same time, there was no doctor present in the ambulance that came to the hospital to take his mother.
The victim’s family has demanded action against MMI Hospital and Red Air Ambulance, alleging looting and negligence in the name of treatment. The family said that in view of the emergency situation, they had paid Rs 6,11,000 for air ambulance and about Rs 8,00,000 for treatment in the hospital to save the patient’s life, but despite this the hospital management did not pay attention.
The hospital management said it was not our fault
Regarding this matter, the hospital’s faculty director Ajit Kumar said that it is not our fault. The family members took the patient safely from here, the situation was fine at that time. We do not know where the shortage of oxygen occurred.
