Raipur: In order to provide relief to the poor and needy families of the state, rice will be distributed free of cost through the public distribution system in the months of May and June.

Raipur, 6 May 2021. As per the decision taken by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, during the transition of Kovid-19, free distribution of rice will be done through the public distribution system in the months of May and June to provide relief to the poor and needy families of the state. According to this decision, in the months of May and June 2021, the allocation of rice has been issued on 23 April 2021 for free distribution in Antyodaya Ration Card, Priority Ration Card, Annapurna Ration Card and Ration Card issued to the destitute and disabled. According to the above decision of the state government, an allocation of 1.97 lakh tonnes of rice has been released for each month of May and June for free distribution.

In addition to the above allocation, for the relief of ration card holders issued under the National Food Security Act and Chhattisgarh Food and Security Act during the months of May and June 2021, the allocation of additional rice is being issued on 6 May 2021, on the basis of which the month of May and During June 2021, various ration card holders will be entitled to free rice. Out of Antyodaya ration card holders, ration card holders with 01 member have been allocated 70 kg of rice on May and June 2021. The quantity of rice in addition to May and June will be 10 kg. In this way, Antyodaya ration card holders with 1 member will be entitled to a total of 80 kg of rice. The ration card holders with 02 members will be eligible for allocation of 70 kg and additional quantity of 20 kg of rice, total 90 kg of rice in the month of May and June. Allotment of 70 kg of rice and quantity of additional 30 kg of rice to the ration card holders of 03 members, Total 100 kg of rice will be eligible. Ration card holders with 04 members will be eligible for allocation of 70 kg and additional quantity of 40 kg of rice, totaling 110 rice. The ration card holders of 05 members will be eligible for allocation of 70 kg and additional quantity of 50 kg of rice, totaling 120 kg of rice. In the Antyodaya RationCard, each member will have an additional entitlement of 02 months for 10 kg per member (5 kg per member per month).

The entitlement of free rice to the primary ration card holders – 20 kg of the month of May and June has been allocated to the ration card holders with one member. Allotment of 40 kg rice to 02 member ration card holders, 70 kg rice to 03 member ration card holders will be eligible. Ration card holders with 04 members will be entitled to 70 kg rice and 10 kg additional rice, thus totaling 80 kg rice. The ration card holders with 05 members will be entitled to 70 kg rice and 30 kg additional rice, thus totaling 100 kg rice. The ration card holders with 06 members will be entitled to a total of 120 kg of rice, 84 kg of rice and 36 kg of additional rice. In the priority ration card with five or more members, each member will have an additional eligibility of 06 kg per member per month (03 kg per member per month) Annapurna, Regular monthly allocation of rice in the month of May and June 2021 will be distributed free of cost in single destitute and disabled ration cards. The distribution will be done according to the eligibility and the issue price fixed earlier in the general ration cards. As per the above eligibility, the rice can be lifted by the ration card holders in lump sum in the month of May or in the months of May and June as per the convenience.
