Raipur: Under the Essential Commodities Act, the medicines coming in the treatment of Corona infection are notified: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel wrote a letter to the Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan

Raipur 29 April 2021. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has written a letter to the Union Health Minister Mr. Harsh Vardhan regarding the notification of medicines required for the management of Kovid-19 infection under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

It is mentioned in the letter that, like other states of the country, Chhattisgarh is also registering an increase in cases of infection under the second wave of Kovid-19. As many as 6,52,362 cases have been reported in Chhattisgarh till 25 April 2021 under this epidemic. Drugs are included in essential commodities under the Essential Commodities Act 1955. Drugs means medicines notified under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.

The Government of India had earlier also made Masks (2 and 3 ply surgical masks and N95 masks) and Hand Sanitizer Essential Commodities Act, to effectively deal with Kovid-19.

Notified under 1955 (Government of India Notification dated 13 March 2020) which helped immensely in dealing with the first wave of epidemic.

The demand for remediesvir injection, ivermectin tablets, enoxaparin injection, dexamethasone tablets and injections, tocilizumab injection and favipiravir capsules has increased for the treatment of patients in the wake of increasing infection in the state due to Kovid-19. Due to the high demand of these drugs, complaints of hoarding and black market are also being received continuously due to which the patients are facing difficulty in treatment. Huh. In this, constant monitoring on distribution and use of medicines in hospitals, formation of special task force, accidental investigation and immediate pressures on receipt of news of black market, etc.

Are included. Notifying the above medicines under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, the administration will get necessary assistance in curbing black marketing and ensuring quality and supply.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has requested the Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan that the above medicines should be notified as essential items under the Essential Commodities Act 1955 keeping in view the situation of the Kovid-19 epidemic.
