Raipur. 24 April 2021. Chhattisgarh has received 12 awards under Rashtriya Panchayat Puraskar-2021 to be given by Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, online transferred the prize money to the accounts of the winning panchayats in a virtual ceremony held in New Delhi on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day. Union Minister of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar also participated in the program. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri T.S. Singhdev and Revenue Minister Shri Jaisingh Agarwal join the video conference at the award ceremony. He congratulated and congratulated all the panchayats who won the award.
This is the second consecutive year that the Panchayati Raj institutions of the state have been awarded 12 national level awards for their outstanding work. In the year 2020 too, the state was awarded the e-panchayat award and 11 panchayat raj institutions in various categories. Prior to that in 2019, the state panchayats had received 11 national awards. In the award program, Mr. Rajesh Tiwari, Advisor to the Chief Minister and Mr. Vinod Verma, Secretary Mr. Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Mr. Prasanna R. from the Chief Minister’s residence office. And the Director, Panchayat Mr. Mohammad Kaiser Abdulhaq was also associated with the video conference.
These panchayats got the award
Chhattisgarh was awarded the E-Panchayat Award by the Government of India for its superior performance in the use of ICT (Information & Communication Technology) in the Panchayats of the state. In this award to be given in three different classes, Chhattisgarh jointly got second place in the first category (Category-I) along with Assam. On the other hand, by the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Kondagaon District Panchayat, Gariaband and Tilda District Panchayat and Sargwan of Ambikapur Development Block in Sarguja District and Riri of Lundra Development Block, Mahud (A) of Gundardehi Development Block, Balod District. Deendayal Upadhyay Panchayat Empowerment Award was given to Mahratola of Sahaspur Lohara development block of Kabirdham district and Baihar Gram Panchayat of Arang development block in Raipur district. Under the National Panchayat Award-2021, Nanaji Deshmukh National Gaurav Gram Sabha Award to remote Vananchal Gotaiguda Gram Panchayat of Bhopalpatnam Development Block of Bijapur District, Bal Hiteshi Gram Panchayat Award to Nawagaon (L) of Abhanpur Development Block of Raipur District and Village to Bahar of Arang Development Block.
