Women groups got benefit of 19 thousand by selling compost fertilizer
Raipur, 26 March 2021. The state government’s ambitious scheme Narva, Garuva, Ghurwa, Bari are providing employment to the villagers of the state along with self-reliance. Through the Gauthan Yojana, where rural women of self-help groups are being empowered with vegetable-farm, farm-farming and traditional small-business. At the same time, organic farming is also getting a boost.
Sonagara Gowthan of Surajpur district which is located in Pratappur development block. With the joint efforts of Panchayat and Rural Development Department and Nodal Department of Agriculture and Biotechnology Department, efforts are being made to make women groups self-supporting in this ideal Gowthan by providing them continuous employment. Here, eggplant, tomato, spinach, coriander, cauliflower, gourd, cucumber etc. are being cultivated in the Bari along with the manufacture of vermi compost by the women’s groups. Now it has developed into a nutritional barrier.
The sugarcane plant has been planted in 2 acres in “Bari method” by Sushila self-help group in bari planted in Gothan, bitter gourd has also been planted among the sugarcane beds, thereby preparing bitter gourd as an intermediate crop. Additional income is being taken.
It is worth mentioning that during the visit of School Education Minister Dr. Premasai Singh Tekam in Sonagara Gowthan, “Mushroom-Haat” was inaugurated. Improved variety of mushrooms is being prepared by Susheela Self Help Women Group here. Vermi compost compost is being prepared by the Rose Women’s Self-Help Group. They have received the dividend amount of 19000 for the sale of compost fertilizer. The district administration is getting continuous support in making Sonagara Gowthan as a multi activity center.
