Raipur: Gowthan committees and women groups from Narayanpur and Dantewada visited Gowthans: 25-25 delegates from both districts have come on study tours of Gowthans and multi-utility centers of Raipur and Durg.

Raipur. 18 March 2021. Members of Gowthan committees and self-help groups of Narayanpur and Dantewada on a study tour of developed Gouthans and multi-utility centers of the central region of the state visited Sikola, Kesra, Borenda, Kauhi and Kurmigundra Gowthan of Patan development block in Durg district today. He discussed with Gauthan committees and self-help groups involved in various livelihood activities and learn the tricks of their operation and management. He also saw solar community lift irrigation in Borenda and Narva enrichment works in Sikola.

Under the Narva, Garwa, Ghurwa, Bari programs, the revival of Sikola Nala is being successfully conducted in pasture, bari and fisheries activities in the six acres of land adjacent to it in the month of March. Today is the first day of the study tour of Narayanpur team and the second day of the team of Dantewada, which arrived on a stay of two days. Representatives of Narayanpur will visit the Agricultural Museum at Baihar Gowthan, Serikhedi Multi-Utility Center and Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in Raipur district on 19 March.

Representatives of the two districts closely observed and understood the various activities of self-employment developed by the Panchayat and Rural Development, Agriculture, Livestock Development, Horticulture, CREDA, MNREGA and Local Gowthan Samiti and Women’s Self Help Group in Gothan. He bought cow dung in Gothanas, inquired about the livestock and fodder system, pasture development, community fencing, fisheries, poultry farming, mushroom production, earthworm production, vermi compost production and mini rice-mill from the women involved in their operation. Women of local self-help groups presented papaya, cucumber, kumhara, chench bhaji and amari bhaji to their community fences to the representatives of Dantewada and Narayanpur. In Kesra, representatives of both the districts were fed organic vegetables produced in the community farmyard during lunch.
