Raipur, 17 March 2021.  The Joint Forest Management Committee has been steadily increasing the artery’s income from dairy farms. As a result, where the compulsion of migrating 16 families below the poverty line of Arteri village has gone away, they have now started living in their village in a respectable manner.

It is worth mentioning that due to the initiative of the government, the Joint Forest Management Committees are getting better opportunities for conducting various income oriented activities including collection and processing of minor forest produce. In this context, the dairy farm is being operated efficiently by the Joint Forest Management Committee of the village artery under Balodabazar forest division. The committee has a total of 16 members headed by Mr. Ramnarayan Yadav. All members are landless and below poverty line. A dairy farm has been established by him under the guidance of the Forest Department.

The important things of the plan are that all the members have built a cowshed at the same place. For this, all the members contribute Rs. 5-5 thousand. All the work members of the gaushala have done themselves with shramdaan. In the Gaushala, 16 sheds are made simultaneously for each member. 4 cows of one member are kept in a shed. The price of cows has been arranged by the Forest Department at a minimum interest from the cyclical fund. A total of 35 lakh rupees have been spent on this scheme.

So far, 30 cows have arrived in the artery cowshed. All are milkmen. Along with this, there are 29 children. At present, 40 liters of milk is being produced daily in the dairy farm. Napier grass has also been planted in the Gaushala complex here. Which cows have easy availability of green fodder. Along with this, there are also plans to set up Gobar Gas and Vermi Compost Plant at Gaushala here. Apart from this, there is a program to make other milk products under the upcoming scheme to continuously increase the income of the committee. Under this, morning milk will be sold in the market and curd, cheese and butter etc. will be made from evening milk.
