S., Principal Scientist of Center of Excellence of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University . S . Tuteja and Dr . D . Khokar , in collaboration with the District Administration of Agricultural Science Center, Korea, made efforts to expand the improved species of aromatic crops in District Korea by observing and visiting the improved cultivation of Lemon Grass / Khas established in 34 acres in collective enclosures of village Dudhaniya, Umzhar, Lai. Known as a commendable step. DR .Farmers of collective farms from Cherian said after discussion that two harvests of Lemon Grass have been done and the extract of aromatic oil is being extracted from the steam distillation plant set up in the field of Agricultural Science Center of Korea as well as various aromatic crops like Pamarosa, Citronella Preparation of 15 ml aroma oil for self entrepreneurship, production of handmade aromatic soap, aroma incense sticks, room freshener, etc., from aroma oil extracted by steam distillation plant from turmeric, poppy, pacchali and shell ginger. Under the guidance, farmers and women’s groups have started under the Farmers Producer Organization so that the concept of self-entrepreneurship can be realized through self-employment. Lemon grass tea leaves are also being made through farmers by drying the leaves and stem of lemon grass. According to the intention of the district administration in Korea district, Cauvery, Krishna, Sim Shikhar, Sim Khas of Lemon Grass, Bio – 13 of Citronella, Motia of Pamarosa, Rashmi of Turmeric and BSR – 2 of Fennel and Gauthan of Fennel Ajmer Fennel – 2 In the villages, the field has been experimented for field testing and publicity. So that the acreage, seeds and plant material of the improved species of aroma and spice crops in the district can be made available to the farmers on the basis of yield and quality data of different species of various aromatic and spice crops.
