Raipur: Nominations invited from districts, development blocks and gram panchayats for national award in effective implementation of MNREGA

Raipur. 4 March 2021. Nominations have been invited from the districts, development blocks and gram panchayats for the annual award -2020 for effective implementation of the scheme in various categories under MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) by the Union Ministry of Rural Development. For the effective implementation of MNREGA in the financial year 2019-20, selected districts, development blocks and gram panchayats from across the country will be awarded at the national level. Chhattisgarh’s MNREGA commissioner Mr. Mohammad Kaiser Abdulhaq has written a letter to the Collector-cum-District Program Manager (MNREGA) of all the districts, directing them to send the proposal for these awards to the state office by 10 March.

In order to promote better implementation of MGNREGA, the Government of India awards the districts and blocks that have done excellent work every year in 11 categories and Gram Panchayats in nine categories at the national level. Under this, convergence and its consequences, participation, quality of manufactured assets, utility, durability and value-effectiveness, accountability in oversight, grievance redressal and supervision, office and financial management in MIS, staffing, training and reporting, innovation in effective implementation of MNREGA. , Initiatives in efficient editing of social environment and challenging tasks, awards are given at three levels District, Development Block and Gram Panchayat level by evaluating the works in categories like IEC, Convergence, Workplace Management and Planning, Coordination and Leadership.

The state MNREGA commissioner has written in a letter to the collectors that the proposals received from the development block and gram panchayat level for the award will be tested at the district level by a committee headed by the collector. Based on the recommendation of the committee, one proposal each at the block level and gram panchayat level from each district is to be forwarded to the state office. The MNREGA commissioner has given instructions to ensure that the specific carrier is sent to the state office in a time-bound manner by clearly mentioning the category (area) of the plan implementation. As per the guidelines received from the Union Rural Development Ministry, proposals have been invited from all the districts for the award of development block and Gram Panchayat level and the remaining districts except Dhamtari, Sukma, Jashpur and Mungeli for the district level award.
