Sukma 24 February 2021.  The new technology of agriculture has shown a new path of prosperity to Bhima, the farmer of Urmapal. The spirit scheme of the Agriculture Department has played an important role in showing Bhima this new path of prosperity. In Sukma, most of the paddy cultivation is done by the farmers of Chhindgarh development block. But now the farmers of this region are increasing their income through crops other than paddy. The youth like Bhima Mandavi have not only taken a step towards prosperity by adopting modern agriculture , but are also becoming inspiration and guide for the young farmers of the region.
Technological knowledge gained from soul planning
Bhima Mandavi said that through district level training and development level training and educational excursion under Extension Reforms (Atman) scheme run by Agriculture Department, the officials of Agriculture Department were taught ways to get good yield from modern technology. Along with this, training was made to make profit by increasing the nutritional value of the crop by using organic manure in the field. Bhima got technical knowledge about modern farming by taking part in development level training and then started using those techniques on his farm. Along with taking training in modern agriculture, they are also taking advantage of various schemes of governance. As a result, Bhima’s income almost doubled due to good yields in farming.
The concern of irrigation solar sujala plan
Bhima its 2.5 in land acre farm 4Greens have been cultivated for years. He said that he crops brinjal , ladyfinger , tomato , barbatti , gourd , bitter gourd etc. every year. In the past, Bhima depended on rain for farming. With rain-based farming, they were able to produce a small amount of vegetables, which were only used at home. Despite hard work, he was not getting any benefit in income. In 2016 , through the CREDA Department, the solar Sujala scheme was benefited, which ended their dependence on rainfall and easily provided water to the crops needed in their fields. With this facility in irrigation, Bhima has started producing crops twice a year due to which he is getting more income.
He said that other farmers are moving towards this new technology due to the advanced technology of farming under the Atma Yojana and the agricultural work is improving a lot earlier than before. Due to which all the farmers of village Urmapal are taking advantage of various schemes of Agriculture Department by adopting the changing conditions of agriculture.
This year is also expected to make good income
Farmer Bhima Mandavi said that last year, he had sold a vegetable and had a net income of about 90 thousand, including brinjal for Rs 15000 , lady ‘s finger of 8000 , barbatti for Rs 20000 , tomato for Rs 50000 . was. Along with this, the banana crop had a net income of 1.5 lakhs. This year too, they have brinjal , ladyfinger ,Harvested tomatoes , barbatti , gourd , bitter gourd etc. Whose production has started , till now they have earned income by selling 3 thousand vegetables. Like the previous year, more income is expected this year. There is a demand for their vegetables from the nearest village , local market to Sukma , while many customers come home and buy vegetables from them. They are also encouraging young farmers of the region to share their experiences and encourage them for improved agriculture and are constantly trying to improve their work.
Farmer Bhima Mandavi while thanking the administration said that the Government of Chhattisgarh is implementing many schemes in the interest of farmers, whose benefits are definitely being given to the farmers. Now Sukma farmers are also doing successful cultivation of crops other than paddy and maize crops. Due to which their income is increasing and the standard of living is improved.
