Pleasant colors of Holi often leave a bad experience due to chemical and adulteration. In view of this, women’s groups in Chhattisgarh are preparing herbal gulal to make Holi safe and prosperous. This will open the way for self-reliance of women and people will avoid the side effects of colors from eco-friendly Holi.
To make herbal gulal, the women of self-help groups of villages Kulgaon, Garhpichhwadi, Bewrati, Pataud Lulegondi and other villages are being trained to make herbal gulal under the tribal sub-scheme by Kanker. Holi festival is coming in which people use color gulal, which is made using various chemical ingredients, which causes many types of problems like skin allergies, eye infections, asthma, asthma, itching. Keeping these things in mind, Kanker, Center for Agricultural Sciences, provides natural substances like catechu, sandalwood, spinach, lalbhaji, henna, dhwai, palash, beet, The method of making safe herbal gulal for the skin using turmeric and rose water etc. is being taught to the women of the group. Under the guidance of Dr. Komal Singh Keram, the scientist of the center, the women themselves got practical training by making herbal gulal. In view of the increasing demand of herbal gulal in the market, it will be prepared in large quantities, which will provide employment to the women of the group as well as the colors of gulal will not be harmful to health.
