Despite the challenges of COVID crisis, the campaign has turned out to be a huge success because of the dedication workers
Raipur, 23 February 2021. Two villages of Durg district- Gujra and Batrel have become malnutrition-free. It is a major achievement under Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana. Despite the challenges of COVID crisis, the workers of Women and Child Development Department have successfully achieved the target.
Under Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan, 16 out of 150 children of six aanganbadi centers in Gujra Gram Panchayat were marked and better feeding of these children under the campaign have started yielding positive results. Last week, the only undernourished girl child Kshama of Matiya village has also been cured of malnutrition. Gujra village has already achieved the malnutrition-free status two months back. Likewise, in October 2019, five out of 177 children were under-nourished in Batrel.
District Programme Officer Mr. Vipin Jain informed that as per the vision of Chief Minister, under the guidance of Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, the drive for malnutrition eradication is being conducted continuously udner Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan. Suposhan Software has also been developed in Durg district to track the results. In the first phase, 11 thousand under-nourished children were selected, out of which 3600 children have been cured of malnutrition. After the second phase, nearly six thousand children are suffering from malnutrition and the efforts to nourish them are continuously being made.
