Chapada chutney of red ants (Mata), which is full of medicinal properties, is consumed in tribal areas of Chhattisgarh, especially in Bastar. According to experts, this sauce also protects against many diseases. It is believed that eating ant sauce protects against diseases like dengue, malaria, corona. To make chutney, the first red ants (mata) are first collected from trees or other places and ground. After grinding, salt, chilli is mixed and eaten with bread or similar. Due to formic acid in the ant, the taste of the sauce is palpable.
Members of the cooperative society from Korea and Jashpur district said that the stall of organic products is getting the maximum sales of Kulthi dal, rice, green tea, indigenous ghee, honey. Sangeeta Mandavi, a member of the women’s self-help group in Dantewada said that people are very fond of various products made from Mahua. People are buying more food products like mahua laddus, cookies made from mahua, pudding, chutney etc. Mahua fruit is rich in nutritional elements in terms of health. Due to the abundance of Vitamin A, Vitamin C in Mahua is effective in eyesight and skin diseases. At the same time, due to the excess of iron, in addition to increasing the amount of blood in the body, the body also reduces energy, mental stress, heart disease, increasing appetite and excess body fat. This is the reason why people are showing special interest in products made from Mahua in Dilli Haat.
