Cargo hub facility will be developed in Raipur

Raipur, 04 February 2021.  On the request of Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Union Aviation Minister Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri has announced to connect Bilaspur with Delhi by air. At the same time, for the development of the cargo hub facility in Raipur, the Airport Authority of India Chairman has instructed the site inspector to take necessary action.

It is to be known that today at the Nirman Bhavan in New Delhi, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel met the Union Minister of Aviation Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri. During this, he urged metropolitan cities like Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata to allow air connectivity under the Regional Connectivity Scheme. The Chief Minister has also accepted the request of Mr. Baghel to develop a cargo hub facility in Raipur. Taking immediate action, the Union Minister has instructed the chairman of the Airport Authority of India to inspect the site next week.

At the same time, Mr. Baghel also discussed with the Union Minister about starting the airline from Ambikapur Airport and to the metro cities from Jagdalpur Airport. On these demands, the Union Minister has assured positive initiatives.

During the meeting, Mr. Baghel also expressed his gratitude for the recent upgrade of Bilaspur Airport to 3C VFR category and to give a green signal to the airline for three cities.
