Discussion with PLC Group of Sciences

Raipur, 03 February 2021.  Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Dr. Alok Shukla today held a meeting of the Professional Learning Community (PLC) of active science in Raipur district at the House of Secondary Education Board office. He said that there will be support in quality education in the state through PLC. He said that every teacher has some strong side. If all such teachers share their strong side with each other, then PLC will get support. He suggested that a platform should be created in which teachers can share their ideas among themselves. He said that a good teacher should not only have knowledge of science but also know how to convey that knowledge to children.
Principal Secretary School Education said that through professional learning community, difficult concepts of the subject can be taught to children in a very simple way. He gave many examples of how the difficult concepts of science can be taught in a new way by removing the ancient lecture or lecture method. Discussed this with teachers. The teachers said that in the examination of the Board of Secondary Education, an attempt should be made to change the nature of practical education and bring new concepts. Dr. Alok Shukla instructed the Board of Secondary Education to give the responsibility of professional learning community for subject wise training to lecturers during summer vacation and through them to create interesting training guide for teachers.
District Education Officer Mr. AN Banjara said that PLC continuously mobilize the group. If seniors share their experience, many other teachers will get inspired. Assistant Director of Composite Education Dr. M. Sudhish informed that a number of PLCs have been formed in the state on various subjects and issues at the elementary level, in which teachers have been kept active for academic and quality work. About 75 lecturers volunteered to participate in the discussion with PLC on Science subject in the Board of Secondary Education. The official of the School Education Department said that on 4 February, the Professional Learning Community will be discussed with the lecturers of English again in the Secondary Education Board. Project coordinator Mr. Patel as well as officials of the State Project Office were also present at the meeting.
