Raipur: 1088 men played their responsibility towards family even during the Corona period

Raipur. 19 January 2021. In Chhattisgarh, 1088 men underwent sterilization during the National Male Sterilization Fortnight . The National Male Sterilization Fortnight was organized from November 21 to December 4 , 2020 by the state government’s Health and Family Welfare Department to improve reproductive health and increase men’s participation in family planning . Despite the Corona period, 1088 men underwent sterilization while performing the responsibility of family planning . This fortnight was organized by the Health and Family Welfare Department, following all the guidelines to prevent corona infection.

Director of Health and Family Welfare Department, Dr. Priyanka Shukla said that during the national male sterilization fortnight, 396 in Kanker district , 200 in Kabirdham , 137 in Raipur , 48 in Kondagaon , 45 in Bemetra , 42 in Mungeli , Gariaband and 27 in Surguja. 27, the fort 23, in Dhamtari 19, in Bludabajar-Bhatapara 17, in Janjgir- 14, Narayanpur and Dantewada 13-13, in Sukma 11, Korba and balod ten , eight Jashpur and mahasamund , six in Raigarh, Five each in Korea and Surajpur and three in Balrampur-Ramanujganj have NSVT as a permanent means of family planning. Dr. Shukla said that according to the guidelines received from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India , the National Sterilization Fortnight – 2020 was organized in two phases with the slogan ‘ Men are now in Bari , participation in family planning ‘ . The first phase was observed as Mobilization Week from 21 to 27 November and the second phase as Service Delivery Week from 28 November to 4 December.

The Director of the Department of Health and Family Welfare said that the amount provided under Family Planning Indemnity Scheme (FPIS) in cases of complications , failure and death due to sterilization has now been doubled. Unsuccessful sterilization cases have also been included since February 2020 . Under the FPIS, on behalf of the Health Department, Mitanin and ANM encourage men and women to undertake sterilization for family planning by visiting various areas. Two thousand rupees are given to men who undergo sterilization and Rs 1400 to women as incentive.

Sterilization couple failing first under the plan 30 was given compensation of Rs. Now it has been increased to 60 thousand rupees by the Health Department . The amount of state and centripet in it is 50-50 percent. To make people aware for sterilization for family planning, painting is done in the walls of health centers and information is being given about it. The first two lakh rupees were paid to the dependent on the death of the beneficiary within seven days in the hospital or home after sterilization. Now it has been increased to four lakh rupees. In this, 50 percent share will be from the central government and 50 percent will be from the state government. 50 in case of death within 8 to 30 days due to sterilization after sterilizationAn amount of one lakh rupees will be provided in place of thousand. In this also, 50 percent share belongs to the central government and 50 percent share to the state government. The actual expenses (up to a maximum of 25 thousand rupees) for the 60 days of discharge from the hospital after the sterilization operation have been increased to a maximum of 50 thousand rupees.
