In the wake of the work done for the prevention and safety of disease and treatment of patients in Dhamtari district during the Kovid 19, the state’s Commercial Tax (Excise), Minister of Commerce and Industry and the Minister in-charge of the district, Mr. Kavasi Lakhma, District Representative, He appreciated the efforts of NGO and others. He also expressed happiness that the vaccination of Kovid 19 has started and in the first phase, the health workers are being vaccinated. He still appealed to people to be cautious towards the worldwide epidemic like Kovid 19. He was reviewing the progress of departmental activities and schemes by holding a meeting of district level officers at the Collectorate meeting hall at 11 am today.
On this occasion, the Minister in-charge expressed satisfaction over the purchase of 90 percent paddy so far in the district on support price in the current Kharif marketing year and hoped that the remaining 10 percent of the paddy would also be procured from the registered farmers at the earliest. On this occasion, the District Marketing Officer said that so far three lakh 71 thousand 652 metric tonnes of paddy worth six billion 97 crore 80 lakhs have been purchased from more than one lakh farmers in the district. Apart from this, one lakh 28 thousand 255 metric tonnes of paddy has been taken up by the millers from the procurement centers and adequate gunny bags are available in the procurement centers. On this, the Minister in-charge instructed to get the paddy kept in the procurement centers as soon as possible and regularly.
During the review of the State Government’s Mahti Godhan Nyay Yojana, Deputy Director Agriculture said that out of 324 Gothans registered in the district, 176 gothans are functional. So far, tax has been paid from the beneficiaries who purchased one lakh 90 thousand 148 quintal dung of Rs 3 crore 80 lakh in these Gothans. Apart from this, five thousand 474 tonnes of Paradan have been done by farmers in 272 Gothans. It was also told in the meeting that samples of vermicompost of 122 Gothan districts went for testing, out of which 99 samples were found to be standard. So far, out of 1125 quintal vermi compost prepared in Gothanas, 584 quintal vermi compost has been sold to 434 farmers. In this way, at the rate of one thousand rupees per quintal, vermi fertilizer of four lakh 95 thousand rupees has been sold in the district. With this, 435 low-cost vermi stitches have been made, Dung was filled in 366 stitches of 118 bundhas. This helped to secure 14 lakh 64 thousand cow dung. The minister in charge greatly appreciated this effort of the district. Also directed that this important scheme of the State Government be ensured to be run smoothly with interdepartmental coordination.
On this occasion, it was also informed that as per the decision of the District Water Utility Committee, water is being released from the dams since January 5 for irrigation of paddy crop in 23 thousand 500 hectare area in the Rabi season. While reviewing the works of various construction agencies, the Minister in-charge specifically emphasized that the approved construction works should be done in a quality and fixed time frame. Apart from this, the Minister in-charge also gave instructions to construct the building as soon as possible to operate the building-less anganwadis of the Women and Child Development Department.
Giving information about the human day created under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, the Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat present in the meeting said that 80 percent of the target of creating 75 lakh man days achieved so far has been achieved The remaining target has been completed by 31 March. Similarly, against the target of providing 100 days of employment to 18 thousand 877 laborers, so far 9800 laborers have been provided 100 days of employment. In addition, with the convergence of MNREGA, all 143 platforms approved in the second phase have been constructed in paddy collection centers. It may be noted that 190 platforms were sanctioned in the first phase. Similarly, construction of ten buildings has been completed from 15 panchayat buildings approved by convergence, the rest is in progress.
Giving information about 34 drains identified for Narva treatment in the meeting, it was informed that out of these 182 works have been approved, out of which 132 works have been completed. On this occasion, the Minister in-charge also reviewed the progress of works of Health, Mineral Department, Horticulture Department and other departments. At the end of the meeting, Collector Shri Jai Prakash Maurya assured the in-charge minister of the district that he will continuously monitor the progress of the important schemes of the government and will ensure strict compliance of the instructions given by the in-charge minister in the meeting.
