Raipur, 07 January 2021. Mr. Praveer Krishna, Managing Director, TRIFED, observed and appreciated the Tamarind Processing Center at village Kinjoli and the cashew processing center at Bakavand in Bakavand development block in Bastar district today. Managing Director Mr. Praveer Krishna has arrived in Bastar on a three-day visit. He talked about promoting all the processing of cashew nut processing at Imli and Bakanwand village of Kinjoli and providing all necessary facilities to the people engaged in this work to get a fair price for their hard work.
Managing Director Shri Praveer Krishna said that the lack of resources will not come in the way of furthering the processing work. He said that both these processing centers would be developed on the lines of industrial area. On the demand of villagers, he informed about construction of godowns and sheds in sufficient quantity at Imli Processing Center, Kinjoli, besides providing machines for processing. He instructed the Chief Conservator of Forests Mohammad Shahid to start this work from Kinjoli. During this, Mr. Sanjay Shukla, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh State Small Forest Produce Association, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Shri B.C. Anand Babu, Collector Shri Rajat Bansal, Forest Officer, Ms. Stylo Mandavi and other officials were present.
TRIFED Managing Director Mr. Praveer Krishna expressed happiness over the commencement of cashew processing by the Bastar district administration through local women’s self-help groups. He said that processing of available tamarind and cashew in abundance in Bastar will definitely increase the income of the local people. During this, he also spoke to women engaged in tamarind processing work and villagers present on the spot. He gave information about the importance of tamarind and encouraged the women engaged in this task to make small packets of tamarind and to make and sell tamarind chaska and tamarind chutney. He said that this will make it easier to sell and will also get a reasonable price. Shri Praveer Krishna reached the house of rural Ishuram of Kinjoli village and observed the work of tamarind weeding. The manager of TRIFED, Mr. Praveen Krishna Cashew of Village Rajnagar, Bakawand Observed processing machines, dryer machines, grading machines, cooling rooms etc. in the processing center. Shri Praveer Krishna also interacted with the women of self-help groups engaged in this work. He instructed to prepare a plan to provide all facilities in cashew processing center and develop it as an industrial area.
