Chhattisgarh bags award for excellent performance under ‘Mor Zameer-Mor Makan’ initiative

Chief Minister extends congratulations on the achievement

Raipur, 1 January 2021. On the very first day of New Year 20221, Chhattisgarh state has made an important achievement. Chhattisgarh Government is being awarded by Government of India for its inclusive model of ‘Mor Zameer-Mor Makan’ under Prime Minister Housing Scheme. In the presence of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri awarded the winners today via video conferencing. Urban Administration Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr Shivkumar Daharia received the award on behalf of Chhattisgarh Government.

On completion of four years of the Mission under Prime Minister Housing Scheme, Government of India’s Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry had organized PMAY-U and Asha Award, under which Chhattisgarh has been awarded in three categories. This online award ceremony was attended by Department Minister Dr Daharia, Joint Secretary R Ekka, SUDA CEO Mr. Saumil Ranjan Choubey and Deputy CEO Mr. Shailendra Patle.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has congratulated Urban Administration Department and all the winners for this important achievement. He added that State Government has been doing significant work in the direction of providing housing facility to underprivileged people, which has now been recognized and awarded by Government of India.

Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr Shiv Daharia said that Chhattisgarh state has also presented striking examples for the country. Chhattisgarh has maintained the top position in the country in terms of cleanliness and now it has also set an example for the Housing Scheme through projects like ‘Asha Chadi Parwaan’. It is a moment of pride for every citizen of Chhattisgarh, said Mr. Daharia.

*Chhattisgarh receives award in the category of ‘Best Convergence with Other Mission’

Chhattisgarh state has been awarded in the category of ‘Best Convergence with Other Mission’ for successful implementation of ‘Mor Zameen-Mor Makaan’ initiative by merging of various schemes to provide better basic facilities to the beneficiaries.

*Dongargarh awarded as the‘Best Performing Municipal Council in the country

Dongargarh Municipal Council has been awarded as the ‘Best performing Municipal Council’ in the country for building maximum number of houses.

*Beneficiaries awarded for Best House Construction*

Houses of the three beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh namely Manju Sahu (Dhamtari), Mumtaz Begum (Dhamtari), Mamta Verma (Kawardha) were awarded under the ‘Best House Construction Category’.
