Raipur, 23 December 2020. Clippers made by women of self-help groups are being taken care of by customers. This has given them a means of employment and the income is also getting better. With the help of Jashpur District Administration, women of Chandni Self Help Group have made slippers in Gauthan of village Gamharia in the district and have sold 20 thousand rupees in a month.
Women of Chandni self-help group were given necessary assistance from the district administration for the manufacture of slippers in village Gamharia Gauthan of Jashpur development block. A machine has been provided by the Forest Department to make slippers for women and young scientist Samarth Jain continues to guide women to make slippers. Manpati Bai, Chairman of Self Help Group and Secretary Yashoda Bai, said that a total of 13 women members are involved in this group. Raw material for sandal manufacture is sourced from Raipur and Ranchi. It costs 40 to 50 rupees to make a pair of slippers, while in the market it is being sold at the rate of 120 rupees per pair. It is also being sold in village Hatbazar and local shops. A total of 200 slippers have been manufactured so far. 20 from the market in a month, 000 has been arrived in. For this, the women of the group expressed their gratitude to the Chhattisgarh government and the district administration.
