Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, has paid tribute to the death of Mr. Motilal Vora, the two-time Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh and Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Motilal Vora. Mr. Baghel has said that Babuji Shri Motilal Vora ji’s departure is like leaving a guardian not only to Chhattisgarh but to the entire Congress family. Starting from the grassroots level of politics, he created a distinct identity at the national level and remained a dedicated Congressman for a lifetime. His place will never be filled. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said – Babuji was one of the people from whom I learned the story of my politics. He was a pioneer for Congress workers from undivided Madhya Pradesh to Chhattisgarh. May God grant them a place in their deeds and give the family the strength to bear sorrow in this difficult time.
Mr. Baghel said that Babuji Shri Vora’s 93rd birthday was celebrated yesterday, no one imagined that such sad news would be heard today. He said that as the Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh, Shri Vora made his invaluable contribution for the all-round development of the then Chhattisgarh region. He started his public life in journalism. In 1968, he was elected as a councilor in Durg Municipal Corporation. In 1972, he became an MLA from Congress for the first time. Subsequently, in 1977 and 1980, MLAs were also elected. The then Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Arjun Singh made him a cabinet minister. He became the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh twice. Also performed his duties as Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Union Minister.
