273 hectare increase in Khushi irrigation area among farmers of village Karethi, Keregaon, Jamsar and Gungeli Nawagaon
Rajnandgaon 13 December 2020. In order to provide irrigation facilities to farmers, the government has renovated the Khursipar reservoir at a cost of Rs 2 crore 76 lakh and the main canal and dam of the Maneri reservoir at a cost of Rs 2 crore 26 lakh in the year 2019-20. Economic prosperity of farmers is the priority of governance. Keeping this in view, irrigation facilities have been expanded.
Before the Khursipar reservoir in Churia development block village Khursipar, only 200 hectare area was irrigated. But now after the renovation of the main canal and dam, farmers could get irrigation facilities in 404 hectare area this year. The irrigation area has increased by 204 hectares. For the last 7 years, water could not reach the villages of Karethi and Keregaon. This year farmers got enough water. Due to renovation, irrigation capacity increased and irrigation facilities expanded. Due to which the farmers of this region are happy. Chief Executive Engineer Water Resources Shri Umesh Mishra informed that before the Maneri reservoir located in village Maneri of Dongargaon development block, 238 hectare area was irrigated. In the year 2019-20, renovation of main canal and dam was done at a cost of Rs 2 crore 26 lakh after which irrigation facility was provided to farmers in 307 hectare area. is. Irrigation area increased to 69 hectares. For the last 7 years, water could not reach the villages of Jamsar and Gungeli Nawgaon, farmers got enough water in these villages this year, which pleased the farmers.
