Not only this, his son and daughter-in-law also earned 26 thousand rupees from the wages of well construction. It is a matter of the village Lamana of Gourela development block of Gorela-Pendra-Marwahi district. Pawan Singh is an example. Villagers of the Gorela development block, like them, made a special contribution to water conservation in the Corona period under the MGNREGA works and strengthened their economic position.
Pawan Singh, a resident of Lamna, was sanctioned Rs 2 lakh 31 thousand for constructing a well under MNREGA. In the construction of the well, his sons Brijlala and Bahu Kunwaria worked 152 days and received wages of 26 thousand rupees. Pawan Singh is working as a fence in 40 decimals of land at his residence due to well construction. From this bari, he has earned 8 thousand rupees in about two months by producing vegetables like gourd, taroi, ladyfinger, dondka, lalbhaji, bitter gourd etc.
During the Corona period in the development block Gorella under MNREGA, 1876 works of around Rs 20 crore were made available under the Natural Resource Management (NRM), so that people do not have to wander in search of work. Through these works, 4 lakh 58 thousand 63 man-days of employment were provided to the villagers and wages were paid to them on time.
