Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey has said that fisheries farmers of the state are achieving success by adopting latest technology in the field of fisheries in Chhattisgarh state. The states are self-sufficient in the field of fish seed production. In last two years, fish seed production has increased from 251 crore standard fry to 267 crore standard fry with an increase of 13 percent in the state. The state ranks sixth in the area of fish seed production in the country. In addition to supplying essential fish seeds in the state’s fisher farmers, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar are also supplying fish seed by private sector. It is a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh.
Director Fisheries informed that the fishery farmers of the state are achieving fish production up to 6-7 metric tons using modern technology. During the last two years, fish production has increased from 4.89 lakh metric tons to 5.31 lakh metric tons in the state with an increase of 9 percent. The state also ranks sixth in the area of fisheries production in the country.
Pangaceous species are being produced by fishery farmers by constructing 1000 ponds on their own land in the last two years in the state. Progressive fish farmers of the state and farmers of the district Kanker are achieving fish production up to 60-70 metric tons per hectare by constructing ponds in the group, especially with the latest technology of Pangaceous fish species, as well as using supplementary feed Fresh diet with healthy protein is available. Cage culture technique ensures 100% attainment of fish in medium and large reservoirs of the state. In this technique, by making 6x4x4 meter cages in reservoirs, fast growing fish such as ‘Pangasius’ and ‘Telapia’ are followed. 3000–5000 kg of fish are produced per cage. So far, 1400 cages have been installed in 11 districts of the state.
The project of 1000 cages has been sanctioned at Hasdeo Bango, Korba, the largest reservoir in the state. After installing these, one unit each of 05-05 cages per beneficiary will be allocated for fisheries. 40 to 60 percent of the grant is being provided by the government to the fishermen of the said local census. In this, priority will be given to the people coming in the Duban region.
Success in adopting the latest technology in the field of state fisheries such as integrated fisheries, intensive fisheries, pangas farming, recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) technology by continuously purifying the waters in low-area and low-water areas Are earning, due to which the fish production of the state is continuously increasing. With the latest technology in the state, the government approved a scheme to encourage fishermen from this year to install biofloc technology to raise more production by rearing fish by using supplementary food in less water area by installing small tanks in less area. is. Accordingly, a provision has been made to provide 40 percent financial assistance to the people of the state for the cost of setting up the unit costing Rs 7.50 lakh.
