Unique scheme of its kind in the country to treat women by women doctors
Raipur, Durg-Bhilai and Bilaspur Corporation areas will be operational as pilot projects under Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme.
Raipur, 19 November 2020. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel today launched Dai-Didi Clinic, a clinic for women, on the birthday of former Prime Minister Late Smt. Indira Gandhi. The Chief Minister flagged off 03 Special Mobile Dai-Didi Clinics from his residence for Raipur, Durg-Bhilai and Bilaspur Municipal Corporation areas as pilot projects. The Chief Minister also visited the facilities available within the mobile clinic and got his blood pressure checked. In this Dai-Didi Special Clinic, all medical staff including doctors will be women and only women will be treated free of cost.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that the Dai-Didi Clinic is the first of its kind in the country, which will treat only women. Currently it has been started as a pilot project under the Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme in Raipur, Durg-Bhilai and Bilaspur Corporation areas and will be further expanded. The Chief Minister said that due to inhibitions, women are not able to tell their illness openly. Due to this, the treatment of his disease is not possible. Now, having female doctors and female staff in Dai-Didi clinics, they will be able to get their treatment properly. In this, women will get free treatment. They will not have to go to hospitals. The Chief Minister has appealed to women to take maximum benefit of this clinic.
On this occasion, Urban Administration Minister, Dr. Shiv Dahria, President of State Housing Board, Mr. Kuldeep Juneja, State Women Commission Chairman, Mrs. Kiranmayi Nayak, Mayor Mr. Ejaz Dhebar, Chairman Mr. Pramod Dubey, President of Raipur Development Authority Mr. Subhash Dhuppad, Secretary Urban administration Mrs. Alarmel Mangai D., Raipur Collector Mr. Bharatidasan, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Raipur, along with doctors, nurses were present.
It is worth mentioning that along with the first aid of women in the Dai-Didi clinic, there will be additional facility for breast cancer screening by women doctor, self breast examination of the beneficiaries, regular and special screening of pregnant women etc. This clinic will be set up in the slum area on a predetermined day near Anganwadi in the cities in collaboration with the Women and Child Development Department. Along with this clinic, benefits of various beneficial projects of Women and Child Development Department for pregnant women, children etc. will also be provided.
Women not having a separate screening room and counselor in general clinics, experience of shame in family planning tools, copper-T insertion, availability of emergency pills, birth control pills, weekly contraceptive pill, contraceptive injection, family planning counseling, STD counseling Does. Due to having dedicated female staff in this women’s clinic, now such consultation will be free.
