Sports Academy to be ready in 15 months

Raipur, 19 November 2020. On the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Smt. Indira Gandhi, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel made a big gift to the players and sports lovers by performing Bhoomi Pujan through video conferencing of the first well equipped tennis academy of Central India in the capital Raipur. Tennis Sports Academy will be constructed on 4 acres of land adjoining the Cultural Building of Agricultural University Raipur. For its construction, the sports and youth welfare department of the state government has issued an administrative sanction of Rs 17 crore 75 lakh. A time frame of 15 months has been set for the construction of the academy.
Addressing the Bhoomipujan ceremony, the Chief Minister said that with the formation of Tennis Academy, an international level tennis competition can be organized in the capital Raipur. Chhattisgarh will get a new identity in the tennis world through this academy. Along with this, the players of Chhattisgarh will get a better opportunity to improve their talent. Public Works Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria, Culture Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, Sports Minister Mr. Umesh Patel, Olympic Association General Secretary Mr. Gurucharan Singh Hora also addressed the program and Tennis Academy to sports lovers. The tennis sports academy to be constructed in the Labhandi area of ​​the capital Raipur will have administrator building, hostel building and a main tennis court and five practice tennis courts. The construction of tennis courts will be of international standard. The tennis court will use the UltraCushion 8 layer synthetic surface. The tennis stadium will be built over 6038 square meters. The capacity of the main tennis court will be 3 thousand and the capacity of VVIP gallery under the main building will be 500 spectators. The main tennis court and practice court will have all facilities including flood lights for day-night matches. For this, 315 kV electric substation and 165 kV capacity DG set for emergency power flow will be installed.
The tennis academy will be well equipped with air conditioning. Here in the ground floor of Admin Building, waiting room, reception, two changing rooms, two halls, parking area and gym in the first floor, dining area, waiting area and in the second floor V.I.P. The lodge will be built. Reception & Waiting Room, Superintendent Room, Office, V.I.P. in ground floor of Hostel Building. Room and parking, carrom room in first floor, table tennis room, kitchen, dining. In the second floor, 17 rooms, house keeping and in the third floor 17 rooms house keeping will be constructed, as well as an international tennis court (synthetic court) and 5 practice courts (synthetic court).
