Raipur, 12 November 2020. Public Health Engineering and Village Industries Minister Guru Rudrakumar extended heartiest greetings to the people of the state on Deepawali. On this occasion, the Minister of Village Industries has appealed to the people of the state to light the lamps of clay traditionally on Deepawali festival, which will also light up the lives of the potters. He appreciated the activities and schemes conducted in the department and said that the Matikala Board is constantly striving for the protection and promotion of potters.

Village industry officials said that by drawing up an action plan for the potters, they are being linked to employment oriented programs. In this series, stalls have been set up for sale of these products in the newly built premises of Marine Drive and Vivekananda Sarovar at Telibandha, made of pottery and attractive items made by the potters for the capitalists, which are getting good response. Officials said that by establishing a glazing unit by the Matikala Board, regular employment is being provided to the potters. He said that by setting up a unit at TelaiChar in Surajpur district, migrant workers are being given permanent and regular employment opportunities, while setting up a glazing unit at village Nari in Dhamtari district, production of materials on a ‘turn key’ base by installing machines, tools and equipment.
