Raipur: Girls not afraid of harassment, come before the commission – Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak: State Women’s Commission has heard the cases of Kondagaon and Narayanpur district

Raipur, 06 November 2020. Chhattisgarh State Women Commission Chairman Dr. Smt. Kiranmayi Nayak on Thursday heard the cases related to women harassment in Kondagaon and Narayanpur district in the meeting hall of Kondagaon district office. The cases included five in Kondagaon district and one in Narayanpur district. The cases were mainly related to family disputes, physical and mental harassment, dowry harassment, maintenance.

The matter was disposed of mentally and physically by the Commission before the witnesses including the applicant and the non-applicant. The chairperson of the commission, Dr. Smt. Kiranmayi Nayak, said that the girls should not be scared of any kind of harassment and should come before the commission and register their complaint. In another case, the parties said that even after the police report, the challan was not presented, on which the commission directed the police station in-charge to take quick action in the reported cases and submit the challan. So that the case before the court can be resolved at the earliest. In addition, the commission also passed a directive to take quick notice of the police report. Guidelines issued by the government to prevent corona infection were followed during the hearing. Officials of the government advocate, Women Child Development and Police Department were present during the hearing.
