Chief Minister Sugam Road is being built up to government buildings without access, Haat Bazaar and Mela site
Registration under E-category to provide employment to unemployed youth and arranging contracts up to Rs 50 lakh
Dharsa development plan will be implemented soon in the state
Raipur, 30 October 2020. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, the Chhattisgarh government has gained momentum in the last two years for strengthening road connectivity and facilitating traffic. During this time the state government has approved Rs 13 thousand 230 crore. This includes 4 thousand 50 works of roads and bridges and their repair. Along with this, all government buildings – schools, colleges, anganwadis, hospitals, paddy collection centers, public use hot markets, Mukhyamantri Sugam Sadak Yojana has been started by Shri Bhupesh Baghel on 19 June 2020 to connect the fair places etc. with the main road. To provide employment to unemployed youth of the state, the state government has also implemented a scheme to register under the e-category. Along with this, action is being taken to implement the Dharsa Development Scheme soon by the Public Works Department. Under which the raw paths (dharsas) of the village will be strengthened so that the rural and cattle can move freely in all seasons including rain.
It is worth noting that in the financial year 2019-20 and 2020-21, the Public Works Department of the Government of Chhattisgarh has sanctioned Rs 13 thousand 230 crore for 4050 works of roads and bridges. Of these, 2648 crore 36 lakh rupees have been approved for 839 works in the financial year 2019-20 and 1930 crore 37 lakh rupees for 274 works in the financial year 2020-21. Apart from this, 8 thousand 400 crores for 768 works under Chhattisgarh Road Development Corporation (CGRDC) and Rs. 252 crores for 2 thousand 169 works under Mukhyamantri Sugam Road Scheme.
Public Works Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu said that the Government of Chhattisgarh is committed to building quality roads and bridges for easy traffic in the state. Keeping this in mind, new roads and bridges are being constructed at a rapid pace with maintenance and renewal of all old roads, doubling of roads and quality. In Chhattisgarh, 50 lakh contracts will be awarded to the youth for construction works for providing employment to the local unemployed youth and for proper utilization of local resources. For this, the new category E has been added after category ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘D’ under the integrated registration system currently implemented by the department.
