Raipur, 18 October 2020. To give a new look to Garhkaleva, the Handicrafts Development Board has launched a new series of furniture based on bamboo crafts. Due to the traditional surroundings and decoration of Chhattisgarh, the attraction in these centers starting in the districts will increase further.
After the formation of new government, folk art and culture of Chhattisgarh is being promoted. At the same time, an initiative has been taken to open Garhkaleva in every district headquarters of the state to popularize the traditional cuisine of Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarhi cuisine is enjoyed by not only the younger generation but also the older generation. These days both generations can be seen in these centers.
A series of bamboo craft furniture has been issued to these centers by the Handicrafts Development Board, in accordance with the attractive and Chhattisgarhi tradition. These furniture are initially being manufactured only for Gadhakaleva, later it will be ready for sale as per the demand of the people. Board officials said that now they will be able to enjoy Chhattisgarhi cuisine sitting on these attractive furniture of bamboo crafts in Gadkaleva. These furniture are not only comfortable but also attractive. He informed that these furnitures are being prepared at Bamboo Crafts General Facilitation Center in Anakakshi district Narayanpur.
Due to the popularization of bamboo crafts, bamboo craftsmen will get regular employment. Apart from this, they will also be encouraged to refine their craft and make other attractive decorative items. Special design of Garhkaleva furnitures has been prepared by the Handicrafts Board. These furniture have attractive polishing. Officials said that special training has been imparted to the local bamboo to prepare these furniture.
