Raipur, 14 October 2020. On the instructions of Excise Minister Shri Kavasi Lakhma, the Excise Department is taking strict action on illegal liquor. In this sequence, the Excise Department of District Kabirdham has seized illegal liquor consignment in Rengkhar forest on the basis of information of Mukhbir. Its market value is about one and a half lakh rupees. Also, the vehicle used for transporting liquor has been seized.
According to information received from the Excise Department, soon after receiving information about illegal liquor from Mukhbir, a team was formed under the direction of District Excise Officer Kabirdham under the guidance of Collector Kabirdham Shri Ramesh Kumar Sharma. Mahindra TUV 300 vehicle number CG in the highly sensitive Rengkhar forest at around 11.30 pm under the direction of a team under the direction of Assistant District Excise Officer Shri Nitin Kumar Khanduja by the Excise Department, Kabirdham from Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh on the night of 13 and 14 October by the team 04 MT 7923 was intercepted and searched. On search, 25 boxes of Goan whiskey, 225 bulk wines made for sale in Madhya Pradesh, were seized and captured. Whose market value is about one lakh 50 thousand rupees. On the spot, vehicle owner Ajay Mandavi age 23 years, associate Hemant Mandavi age 24 years and Om Porte age 19 years, section 34 (2) of the Excise Act, Arrested under 36 and 59A. It is noteworthy that this is the second major action of the Excise Department Kawardha in the last 20 days.
