Raipur: Chief Minister takes major action before meeting of Home Department: SDOP and station in-charge suspended for negligence in investigating crimes related to women

Raipur, 14 October 2020.Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today suspended SDOP Mr. Wadhesh Jaiswal and Police Officer-in-Charge Raghunathanagar Mr. John Pradeep Lakda for negligence in investigating crimes related to women while taking a major action before the Home Department meeting. Immediately following the instructions of the Chief Minister, Director General of Police Shri D.M. An order in this regard has also been issued by Awasthi. Their headquarters have been kept at the office of Inspector General of Police, Surguja during the suspension period.

   It is important to note that instructions have been given by the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel to work with priority and with utmost sincerity for the prevention of crimes against women. The Chief Minister has also written a letter to the Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court recently, requesting to notify the required number of fast track courts in all districts for speedy hearing of cases related to sexual offenses. He has also agreed to provide all necessary support from the state government for this.
