Raipur: Chief Electoral Officer visited remote areas of Marwahi: Motivated villagers to use franchise

Raipur, 09 October 2020.Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Reena Baba Saheb Kangale visited the remote tribal dominated villages of Marwahi assembly constituency and inspected the polling stations. Smriti Kangale went to inspect polling booths on the last day of her two-day visit to the district to review election preparations in Marwahi constituency.

He reached out to the villages having special backward Baiga tribe and discussed with the villagers. He inquired about the availability of EPIC cards with all the voters. During this time he inspired people to use the franchise. Mrs. Kangale said that franchise is our right as well as duty. She told the villagers that the Corona Infected (Certified) Voters, Disabled Voters and Voters above 80 years of age were provided the facility to vote by postal ballot. is.

Mrs. Kangale instructed the officers to ensure availability of other basic facilities including drinking water, power supply, toilets at polling stations during the inspection. He directed the Sub Divisional Magistrate of Marwahi to ensure compliance of all the guidelines given by the Election Commission of India regarding rescue of Kovid-19. He also inquired about internet connectivity for sensitive polling stations and web casting.

During the inspection of the Chief Electoral Officer, Assistant Collector Mr. Mayank Chaturvedi, Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Mr. Gajendra Thakur, Marwahi Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mr. Ravi Singh and other officials were present.
