Call for industrialists to set up forest based industries
The industrialists appreciated the initiative of the state government .
Raipur, 04 October 2020. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that the state government will provide all possible help to entrepreneurs for setting up forest-based industries in the forested areas of Chhattisgarh. He has called upon the entrepreneurs of the state to come forward for this. The Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel was holding discussions with industrialists and office bearers of various industrial organizations in his residence office today in a meeting to set up forest-based industrial units in the state. The Chief Minister said that the State Government should extend all possible support for the establishment of forest-based industrial units in the state for proper exploitation of the rich forest wealth in the state and through this to connect the local people with employment.
The Chief Minister said that 44 percent of Chhattisgarh’s state is forest covered. There is an immense potential for horticultural production with the availability of abundant medicinal and minor forest produce here. He said that the establishment of industrial units related to forest produce and horticulture produce will boost the economic development of the state and open new doors of employment for the people of Vananchal.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that the government is making efforts to improve the economic condition of the people of Vananchal and to connect them with employment. In this direction, the Community Forest Resource Charter letter is being handed over to the local community in the forest areas. He said that recently the people of 1300 Vananchal villages in the state have been given the right to consume more than 5 lakh hectares of forest land by the state government. He also said that we have encouraged planting of fruitful plants instead of timber plants, changing the old policy of plantation rains in forest areas. This year more than 86 lakh forest plants and fruit plants have been planted in the forest areas, so that the local people can benefit from it. The Chief Minister said that its objective is to protect the forests with the participation of the local people and to connect the people of Vananchal with livelihood activities.
The Chief Minister further said that as per the proposal of the entrepreneurs, the State Government will promote the planting of forest plants and fruit plants, so that the raw material can be readily available to the industry to be established there. On this occasion, the Chief Minister informed the industrialists about the climatic diversity of Chhattisgarh state and the different forest produce and horticultural produce and said that the government will work to promote it as per the proposal of the entrepreneurs.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also said that lack of availability of land for establishment of forest based industries will not come in the way. He also referred to the efforts being made for the conservation of surface water in the state through Narva (drainage) treatment under the Suraji village scheme of the state government. He said that more than 1300 drains are currently being treated in the state, most of which are located in drainage areas. Due to this, the availability of water for the industries set up in the forested areas will also be easily ensured. He said that human resources will also be readily available for industries to be set up in forest areas. The Chief Minister also asked entrepreneurs to start making necessary preparations along with making proposals for setting up forest-based industries in various zones of the state.
The Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel’s proposal to set up forest based industries was appreciated by the industrialists of the state and said that this proposal of the Chhattisgarh government has unique and boundless possibilities. The industrialists thanked the Chief Minister for the concession given by the State Government in the operation of industries during the Corona period, including the provisions of the New Industrial Policy 2019 to 2024, for the promotion of industries in the state by the Government of Chhattisgarh. He described the 24 percent increase in GST in the state of Chhattisgarh as compared to the month of September 2019, despite the Corona crisis in September this year, a result of the policies and efforts of the state government. On this occasion, industrialists attracted the attention of the Chief Minister regarding the promotion of industries of various sectors and kept their demand.
